About Nucu

Nucu is a wellness technology company founded in 2016 in Oulu, Finland. Nucu’s mission is to help caregivers provide babies with positive stimulation and developmental sleep. Their first-generation multisensory baby pad was developed for the neonatal intensive care unit to support the development of premature babies.

The team

Nucu is a Finnish sleep wellness company founded in 2016 by Juha Hannula (on the left of the image). He founded Nucu based on his personal experiences as an engineer and father and caregiver of newborn babies.

The Nucu team draws from decades of experience with health and technology. The team includes Emeritus Professor Esko Alasaarela and wellness technology expert Marco Suvilaakso (on the right of the image).

The solution has been developed and tested in close collaboration with the NICU of Oulu University Hospital.
